The University is transitioning all computers from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 next year.
What version of Windows am I running?
The simple way to find out what version of Windows you are running is to click on the start menu, type winver and press Enter. This will bring up the About Windows window, which will show if you are running Windows 10 or Windows 11.
Update to Windows 11 using Windows 11 Installation Assistant
To update to Windows 11, simply run the attached Windows11InstallationAssistant.exe or download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from this link. Open the file to download and install Windows 11.
Once the process is done, you will be prompted to restart the computer.
Note that if you do not select Restart Later the computer will automatically restart at the end of the countdown.
