Here are a few instructions for updating your Faculty Profile:
The profile information is used by the following websites. The presentation of the data varies, but the data for all these sites comes from this same source. Changes to your profile take effect immediately on the School of Medicine profiles, but may take a day or two to update on the other sites. (If you’re on a site with your profile page up you may have to refresh your browser to see the changes.)
- School of Medicine Profiles
- UC Health
- Children’s Hospital
- CU Medicine
To edit your faculty profile, go https://som.cuanschutz.edu and Sign In. After signing in select “Update My Profile”
Once you are in your profile use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate to the various sections to edit
- General
- Clinical
- Professional
- Education
- Research and Grants
When you click into one of the sections you are automatically in “edit” mode and can start making changes. Once you make a change it is submitted. You do not have to click on a submit button. Most changes happen immediately and will be visible on the website. However, sometimes it can take up to an hour for a change to register in the system and show up on the website.
If you can see the change in the Profiles application but it’s not showing on the website wait an hour before submitting a ticket at: medschool.zendesk.com.
Not all fields in your profile can be updated, such as Position. These fields are maintained by Faculty Affairs. If there is a field that is incorrect that you can’t modify send an email to som.ofa@cuanschutz.edu.
- View Profile: There is a green “View Profile” button at the top of each profile edit page. Click this button to see your how the changes to your profile will look.
- Blank Fields: If a field is blank, it will not show up when your profile is displayed on the websites
- Phone Number Type: There are several types of phone numbers (you set the type when you edit the phone number under Personal Information.) They are either “publishable” meaning that they’ll show up on the public websites like CU Medicine or they are for “Internal Use Only.” These will not show up on the public facing websites.
- Website: In your Personal Information you have the option to enter one website, some people enter their Lab or Personal website others like to point to PubMed. Keep in mind there is space for only one website.
- CV: This field is under Personal Information and will allow you to link your CV to your Profile Page. This is displayed on the public facing websites so don’t include personal information such as social security number.
- Fellowships: If you don’t see one listed that is appropriate go to the bottom of the dropdown list and select “Other”. A text field will come up to allow you to enter the appropriate fellowship.
