Folders and files can be created in these specific channels. Members and Owners of the Team/channel will have access to these files.
Share a folder with someone outside the organization
If you need to share a folder with someone outside the organization, follow these steps. If you share a folder only that individual and members of the team have access to the data within.
- Create the folder by select + New selecting Folder and entering a name.
- Select the folder, then on the far right click the
icon to Open the details pane
- Under Has access click the first icon
Add a Person or group to bring up the Grant access window
- Enter the individual's email address, then Select Grant Access. This will make sure the person has access to the folder. If you select the box to Notify people, an email will be sent from the owner's email notifying them of the folder.
- If you would rather send a separate email with the link, click the Share this item with other people icon next to the folder. Click + Start Sharing to bring up the sharing window
- Enter the individual's email into the top field, then click Copy link
- You can copy the link into an email or other electronic communication method to the individual.
You may see an Invalid address the first time you enter an email address outside CU, but it should eventually work.
