If you have a keyboard, mouse or other peripheral that connects with a wireless USB dongle, you can often change which peripherals are paired with the dongle. This is useful if you lost the original dongle and need to use a different one with your keyboard and/or mouse.
Logitech Devices
The key to Re-Pairing Logitech peripherals is that they need to be branded with a "unifying" icon. If you don't see this icon (pictured below on the left), there is no way to pair the peripheral with another dongle.
1. Go to Logitech's website and download the installer for "Logitech Unifying Software."
2. Make sure the dongle you want to pair is plugged into the computer.
3. Open the software and follow the prompts. You can pair up to 5 devices with a single unifying receiver.
Dell Devices
Dell follows a similar process to Logitech. If you have a Dell receiver, follow these steps:
1. Go to Dell's website and download the installer for "Dell Peripheral Manager"
2. Make sure the dongle you want to pair is plugged into the computer.
3. Open the software and follow the prompts.
Some mice and keyboards are only bluetooth or can also connect with bluetooth. Be sure to check for the bluetooth symbol on the device if you lost the original dongle.
